Down to Brick Lane...

Isn't it a beauty?

Pretty cold day today, but that doesnt dampen the spirit of Londoners to stroll down Brick Lane to this yearly festival... So this year baby and i took the chance to have a look at what is happening down there at the banglatown...

A flash of history...

The Festival captures the history and the cultural influences of the area as a springboard to celebrating London as a world city. British culture is dynamic and fascinatingly varied and nowhere more so than in the East End of London. Here a distinctive mix of influences has produced a particularly vibrant network of communities.

The history of Brick Lane is as an area that has gone through constant change as different communities have settled here. This stretches back centuries to the first influx of Huguenots who were followed, generation on generation, by the arrival of a variety of European, Jewish, Bangladeshi, Somali and other African and Asian newcomers. Over the years the interaction of these migrants with each other, and with the already established populations, has brought a unique combination of cultural and artistic flavours to the locality.

Some pictures of art display by the artist at Brick Lane... They draw it there and then... There was also a Fashion Bazaar with plenty of 'fashionable' clothings collection at affordable:) Plus... plus the aromatic authentic Indian cuisine.... yum yum..! Adding on to the spice was loads of music all over...drums beating,dancing... hehe funny looking at a few old man shaking their booties off :P ...

Great experience... and its just 11 minutes walk away from my place :) Next time... Brick Lane would be a choice for indian food ! Thumbs up! :)
