Rainy day
Saturday,23 October 2004, Sally and I decided to do a little shopping down Oxford Street. So early in the morning, i check the weather report notting the temperature was at 14 celcius so i decided to just put on a pullover. Both of us left at 10.30 am and boarded bus no 25...30 mins later we were in high streets of london shopping away.
We stopped at Topshop then GAP...Sally found her jeans...48 pounds... huhu that must have drill a big hole in the pocket! Next, went to Borders then to Waterstones...Huhu...cant find my book there so hafta walk up Tottenham Road to another branch of Waterstone. It was already 1.00 pm. Rain was still pouring. Clouds were still dark...
So after purchasing my book, we were ready to move to over next destination Chinatown but then again the rain outside was pouring like cats and dogs. First time i since i have been in London experiencing such a weather. As we have time to spare, we browse through some cute little books with children's drawing illustration entitled 'Kama Sutra'...'Doing It' and a lot more in the selection. Haha Sally and I was thinking that it would be a good Chirstmas present for Emmanuel and Tien. Hehe...cute way of learning things i would say.
Huhu..after a few times reading the map upside down and got lost we finally reach Chinatown and savour every bit of the food we ordered. Sally took Penang Assam Laksa and me...Prawn Mee... Haha...guess wat? It cost 6 pnds a bowl... But then again in London almost everything is inflated. Anyway it was really delicious just like back home... That would ease the craving for home food for now...
Shopping in Chinatown...Gerard Street... Items hunt for: Dark soya sauce and assam keping... Location either in Loon Moon or Long Fung... Search result found dark soya sauce...but takde assam keping...daun kesum, asam jawa all got la...no Assam keping!!!! huhuhu... bought a few other stuffs then head back to Mile End.
Initially we plan to take the bus home ,but then again waiting in the rain is not ideal. My head was feeling a little dizzy and i was feeling a little chilly. So we decided to pay 2 pnds n head home by tube. We were stuck at the Mile End station at 4.30 pm, it was still raining... both of us so tired and restless decided to walk back home in the rain since we were drenched anyway.
Took a hot bath immediately and along rest before dinner time.
(p/s : had ikan keembung assam pedas and fried long beans for dinner)
